"Yes.....you can't imagine how much he loved her. After his mother passed away he usually shared his feelings with me....he told me how he met her in school. How he had liked her but never got to tell her about his feelings because he did not want to get her hurt by the ones who talked bad about him. He told me about how she moved to another country forever. And as he grew up, he would often tell me about how he would grow up and go find her once his business was successful. He'd tell me about how he would impress her father with his business and ask for her hand. He even began to build a small house in Cairo saying that one day he'd move there once he was with her. He spent hours growing taking care of a garden in that house saying that she liked flowers and greenery. He must love her a lot...." the father said, staring down sadly. Alaya's eyes welled up without her knowing as she heard the father describing. Was all of this really true? Did Raphael never...

Chance: Chapter Thirty Two (Love in secrecy)

Raphael sighed as he remembered that day as he sat in his car. If only.....if only she knew the sacrifices he made just for her. From that day on, Raphael had done exactly as Layaan told him to do. His first request was to let his father take half of his whole net worth through a court case. That was done in exchange of Layaan taking full responsibility of doing his best to cure Raphael's father. Raphael had sat in the court, listening to the arguments between Ahmed and supposedly his lawyer who was hired by Ahmed. Raphael purposely let them win the case in hope he would have some peace of mind. And he did. For a number of days. He did not receive any threats about Alaya getting hurt and his father was being treated well. Everything was going smoothly months until he'd arranged a marketing event at a high school hall in New York. He'd arranged the event at a night where they were supposed to have an Islamic awareness program that was led by the Muslim Student Associ...

"ALAYA!!!" Raphael's heart stopped when he heard that name after so many years. Memories flashed back right before his eyes as he thought about that name. How he'd run to catch up with her. How he had returned her paper. How he had saved her from embarrassment. How they'd gotten close after that. How they'd talked with all smiles each and every day for a whole year. It wasn't that those memories ever left him that he was remembering them one by one at the moment. Those memories stuck in his heart like a scar that refused to heal. But it all came back to him more vividly than ever before because someone else reminded him of her. But why? Why would he be reminded of her by someone else? The moment Raphael thought of that question was the moment that Layaan began to talk. "It was you who took her away from me! She would have liked me if you weren't going after her left and right. I tried so many ways but she wouldn't even look at me. Do...
