Blog post: To all the young people who are dreading themselves just because they did not get to go to a fancy university from abroad, take it from those who have been there. In the real world and even in workforce, what matters more is your work ethic rather than where you have graduated from. What matters more are your genuine concerns for your community. What matters more is your willingness to serve those around you as best as you can. Not saying that you don’t have to take opportunities to study abroad if you have the means (besides interest-based loans that keep you in debt for the most part of your future life). But also saying that if you don’t have the means to go to an elite university, make the most of the opportunities that you do have instead of sulking at what you did not get. Knowledge and wisdom comes to those who seek it. And know that whatever opportunities that Allah gave you, are the best opportunities that you could possibly have! Its only a matter of time it wo

Blog post: Our belief in Allah strengthens us in the face of every kind of pressure. Because when we truly declare our Master as Allah, we hand over all of our affairs to Him. We acknowledge that we can't control what any of the creations think or do because at the end of the day, the Master of all things is in-charge of everything. So our hearts are freed from the slavery of anything else except for the slavery to the One Who truly deserves it. Our Master, Allah.

Blog post: Never underestimate the power of a good word you leave behind. A good word is like a good and pure tree with its roots firmly rooted into the ground and its branches reaching up to the sky. That tree isn't just going to benefit one person. Rather, its going to provide shade and fruits to uncountable people, even after the person who planted it, has left this world. And when the tree gives its fruits, there will be a number of seeds in each fruit and those seeds will give raise to many other such trees. Such is the example of the kalimah of our deen (laa ilaaha illallaah, Muhammadhu rasoolullah). Such is the example of any reminder reminding people of their Master and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW). Such is the example of any good word said with a sincere heart. أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللَّـهُ مَثَلًا كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ “Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good wo

Blog post: وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ “..And lower your wings of humility for them…” Surah Al-Isra, 24 Ever wondered about what this means? Especially when you don’t happen to have wings? How are you supposed to lower them if you don’t have them? The thing is, the ayah is giving an example of a bird in that expression. And the biggest power a bird has is in its wings. Because it can choose whether to stay in a place or not, by using its wings. And when it does use its wings to go, it’s difficult to catch it. When a bird’s wings are cut off, it is seen as a powerless and humble creature. Its literally at the mercy of anyone or anything around it without its wings. So when the ayah says ‘lower your wings’ for your parents, it means that though you may have your ‘wings’, though you may have every reason to look down on your parents, though you may have the perfect response for everything they say, though you have just the right idea to act up in front of them, you choose

Moms….the ones who show us perseverance for what it is. The ones who teach us that we mustn’t stop just because something is difficult. The ones who inspire us to stand strong through thick and thin while we see them living up to those same standards. The ones who hate to see us struggling, yet put us through the tests to make us stronger. May Allah bless all those women who raised us to be strong individuals.
