Type (detailed) ·       Today we will be looking at the last property of isms which is “type”. ·       Type is when you talk about something specific or when you are talking about something generally. ·       Generally we say ‘a girl’. When we say that we don’t know which girl it exactly is. So it’s general. ·       But then we say ‘the girl’. When we say that, the person hearing us probably knows exactly which girl we are talking about. So its specific. ·       Similarly if you say ‘a teacher’ it would be general but if you say ‘the teacher’ it would be specific. ·       *When something is general we call it common. ·       *When something is specific we call it proper. Ø There are 7 ways in which you can tell something is proper. Ø If none of the 7 are present, then its common. 7 ways of being proper 1.      Proper names: Eg: Aisha, Hawwa, Makkah, 2.      Words starting with ‘Al’ When you put ‘Al’ on a word, the thanveen (‘n’ sound) disappears
