Type (detailed)
·      Today we will be looking at the last property of isms which is “type”.
·      Type is when you talk about something specific or when you are talking about something generally.
·      Generally we say ‘a girl’. When we say that we don’t know which girl it exactly is. So it’s general.
·      But then we say ‘the girl’. When we say that, the person hearing us probably knows exactly which girl we are talking about. So its specific.
·      Similarly if you say ‘a teacher’ it would be general but if you say ‘the teacher’ it would be specific.
·      *When something is general we call it common.
·      *When something is specific we call it proper.

Ø There are 7 ways in which you can tell something is proper.
Ø If none of the 7 are present, then its common.

7 ways of being proper
1.     Proper names:
Eg: Aisha, Hawwa, Makkah,

2.     Words starting with ‘Al’
When you put ‘Al’ on a word, the thanveen (‘n’ sound) disappears

مُسْلِمٌ ---------- المُسْلِمُ
The muslim --------- A muslim
‘Al’ does not have an effect on AANI and OONA sounds though the meaning changes

مُسْلِمَانِ ----------- الْمُسْلِمَانِ
The two muslims -------- Two muslims

مُسْلِمُوْنَ ---------- الْمُسْلِمُوْنَ
The muslims ----------- Muslims

3.     Pronouns
He, you, they, we, I etc….

أَنَا  نَحْنُ  هُمْ  أَنْتَ  هُوَ ........

4.     Pointers
This   -  هَذَا

That – ذَلِكَ

Those – أُلاَئِكَ

5.     Ism mowsool
These are words like:

الَّذِي   الَّذِيْنَ     الَّتِي

These words usually mean ‘those who’

*Details of Ism mowsool will come in later lessons.


6.     The one being called
Ø In Arabic when you call someone, there is a يَا in front of the name.
Ø The word that comes after يَا does not even matter because when you call someone, you are being specific

7.     If the ism after ‘of’ is proper then the ism before ‘of’ is proper.
*This point will be detailed in later lessons In Sha Allah.

ވައްތަރު (ތަފްޞީލުކުރެވިފައި)
މިއަދު އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ތަފްޞީލުކޮށް ބަލާލާނީ އިސްމްތަކުގެ އެންމެ ފަހު ސިފަ ކަމުގައިވާ 'ވައްތަރު' އަށެވެ.
އިސްމްއެއްގެ ދެ ވައްތަރެއްވެއެވެ. އެއީ ޢާއްމު ވައްތަރާއި ޚާއްޞަ ވައްތަރެވެ.
މިސާލަކަށް އަންހެން ކުއްޖެކޭ ބުނެފިނަމަ އެއީ ސީދާ ކޮން އަންހެން ކުއްޖެއްކަން އަހަރުމެންނަށް ނޭނގެއެވެ. އެހެންކަމުން 'އަންހެން ކުއްޖެއް' އެއީ ޢާއްމު ބަހެކެވެ.
އެހެނަސް 'އެ އަންހެން ކުއްޖާ'، މިހެން ބުނެފިނަމަ އެ އަޑުއިވޭ މީހަކަށް އެއީ ސީދާ ކޮން އަންހެން ކުއްޖެއްކަން އެނގޭކަން ހާމަވެގެންދެއެވެ. އެހެންކަމުން އެ ވެގެން ދާނީ ޚާއްޞަ ބަހަކަށެވެ.
ޢަރަބި ބަހުގައި ވަނީ ޢާއްމު ބަސްތަކާއި ޚާއްޞަ ބަސްތަކެވެ.
ޢަރަބި ބަހުގައި ބަހެއް ޚާއްޞަވާ 7 ސަބަބެއްވެއެވެ. އެ ސަބަބުތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން އެއްވެސް ބަހެއް ބަހުގައި ނުވާނަމަ އެވާނީ ޢާއްމު ބަހަކަށެވެ.

ބަހެއް ޚާއްޞަވާ 7 ސަބަބު:
1.   މީހަކަށް، ތަނަކަށް ނޫނީ އެއްޗަކަށް ކިޔާ ނަމަކަށްވުން
މިސާލު: ޢައިޝާ، ޙައްވާ، މައްކާ

2.   'އަލް' އިން ފެށޭ ބަހަކަށްވުން
ނޯޓް: 'އަލް' ބަހެއްގެ ކުރިއަށް ލުމުން އެ ބަހުގެ ފަހަތުގައިވާ ތަންވީނު ގެއްލިގެންދެއެވެ.
مُسْلِمٌ ------------ المُسْلِمُ
މުސްލިމެއް ----------- އެ މުސްލިމް މީހާ
'އަލް' ބަހެއްގެ ކުރިއަށް އިތުރުކުރުމުން ތަންވީނު ގެއްލުނަސް 'އާނި' އަދި 'އޫނަ' ފަދަ ނިންމުންތަކަށް ބަދަލެއް ނާންނާނެއެވެ.
مُسْلِمَانِ ---------- الْمُسْلِمَانِ
ދެ މުސްލިމުން ---------------- އެ ދެ މުސްލިމުން

مُسْلِمُوْنَ ---------- الْمُسْلِمُوْنَ
މުސްލިމުން ----------- އެ މުސްލިމުން

3.   ޟަމީރުތައް
އަހަރެން، އަހަރުމެން، އެމީހުން، ތިބާ، އޭނަ......
أَنَا  نَحْنُ  هُمْ  أَنْتَ  هُوَ ........

4.    ޢިޝާރާތްކުރާ ބަސްތައް
هَذَا – މީތި

ذَلِكَ – އޭތި

أُلاَئِكَ – އެ ތިބަ މީހުން

*ޢިޝާރާތްކުރާ ބަސްތައް ކުރިއަށް ހުރި ފިލާވަޅުތަކުގައި ތަފްޞީލުކުރެވޭނެއެވެ. (އިން ޝާ ﷲ)

5.   އިސްމް މައުޞޫލް
މިއީ ތިރީގައިމިވާ ފަދަ ބަސްތަކެވެ.

الَّذِي   الَّذِيْنَ     الَّتِي

    
 މި ބަސްތަކުގެ މާނަ ޢާއްމުގޮތެއްގައި އަންނާނީ 'އެ މީހުންނަކީ' މި ފަދައިންނެވެ.
(އިސްމް މައުޞޫލް އަދި ކުރިއަށް ހުރި ފިލާވަޅުތަކުގައި ތަފްޞީލުކުރެވޭނެއެވެ. (އިން ޝާ ﷲ)

6.    ނަމުން ގޮވޭ ފަރާތެއް
ޢަރަބި ބަހުގައި މީހަކަށް ގޮވުމަށްޓަކައި އަބަދުވެސް ނަމުގެ ކުރިއަށް يَا ލެވެއެވެ. މިސާލަކަށް 'ޔާ އިބްރާހީމް'، 'ޔާ ޔަޙްޔާ'، 'ޔާ ޢީސާ'....
يَا އަށްފަހު އަންނަ ކޮންމެ ބަހަކީ ޚާއްޞަ ބަހެކެވެ. އެހެނީ ގޮވާނީ ކަނޑައެޅިގެން އެނގޭ މީހަކަށް ކަމަށްވާތީވެއެވެ.

7.    މުޟާފްއެއް ޚާއްޞަވާނަމަ އޭގެ މުޟާފް އިލައިހި ވެސް ޚާއްޞަވާނެއެވެ.
މުޟާފް މުޟާފް އިލައިހިގެ ފިލާވަޅު ކުރިއަށް ހުރި ފިލާވަޅުތަކުގައި ތަފްޞީލުވެގެންދާނެއެވެ. (އިން ޝާ ﷲ)

The chart above shows the pronouns of the Arabic language. Below each pronoun is its attached form (in purple). Pronouns can be seen independently or attached to a word. For example هُوَ which means ‘he  or it ’ can be attached to a word like كِتَابُ (which means book). To attach, we should look for the attached form of the pronoun. Attached form of هُوَ is هُ so we can say كِتَابُهُ and this would mean, ‘his book.’ Some pronouns have two attached forms. We choose the attached form for a pronoun depending on the harakah (fili) on the last letter of the word. For example if the word was كِتَابِ it will be very difficult and sounds weird to say كِتَابِهُ so the Arab says كِتَابِهِ and this would also mean ‘his book’. Mudhaaf-mudhaaf ilaihi with pronouns Among the lessons related to pronouns, we had looked at the pronouns chart. Below is a picture to help you remember. The ‘attached’ forms are actually nasb or jarr versions of the pronouns. They are called ‘attached’ forms because they are always found attached to a word. Example:    رَسُوْلُهُ If you find هُ   or هِ you must know that it’s the attached form of هُوَ and can only be nasb or jarr status. Harf of Nasb (English + Dhivehi)

حَرف نَصب إِنَّ                                   أَنَّ                              كَأَنَّ لَيْتَ                          لاَكِنَّ                  لَعَلَّ These are called Harf of Nasb. Their meanings are as follows: إِنَّ – For sure أَنَّ – that كَأَنَّ – as though لَيْتَ – if only لاَكِنَّ – however لَعَلَّ – so that/hopefully/maybe The word after harf of nasb must be a nasb. (must end with fathha, AANI sound or EENA sound – look up lessons on status) A harf of nasb doesn’t necessarily beat up the word next to it. There may be there words between harf of nasb and the word beaten up. Eg: إِنَّ اللّهَ إِنَّ is the harf nasb. The word اللّهَ is the ismu إِنَّ . Because the word became nasb due to إِنَّ .
